It's Election Day in Michigan. Polls will be open from 7am - 8pm. This is an "off year" election but you are still encouraged to vote.

The Secretary of State says issues on the ballot today will still impact you and your community.

If you need to find out what's on your ballot you can go to:  michigan.gov/vote.

There is a big mayoral election for Detroit but other towns like Kalamazoo, South Haven and Grand Haven also will decide on who will be their mayor.  Sen. Peter MacGregor vacated it to become the county treasurer. The 28th District covers parts of western and northern Kent County. The candidates include Rep. Mark Huizenga, R-Walker; former Kent County Commissioner Keith Courtade, a Democrat; electrical contractor Theodore Gerrard of the U.S. Taxpayers Party and Libertarian Alexander Avery.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

For the Lord is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the Lord,” he says, “and there is no other.”
