Thumb area beaches along the Saginaw Bay offer a number of sandy shorelines, parks, trails, nature centers, and attractions between Port Austin and Caseville.

The Lake Michigan coastline is known for their sandy beaches, but there are also a number of dunes and sandy shores in the Thumb area of the state. 

A variety of beaches and family attractions in Huron County can be found between the communities of Caseville and Port Austin.

There are two popular state parks: Albert E. Sleeper and Port Cresent State Parks, as well as a number of county parks that offer a variety of activities, as well as acres of dunes and natural forest.

The area is also home to one of Michigan's Dark Sky Preserve locations.

Kayak rentals area available for viewing Turnip Rock.

Boat charters, horseback riding, and trails for hiking and biking are available.

There are nature centers, lighthouses, butterfly gardens, and historic buildings downtown Port Austin to explore that house small cafes and unique retail shops.

A number of people make their way to Caseville in late summer as they hold their annual 10-day Cheeseburger Festival in August.
