Police have spent the weekend investigating a number of shooting incidents.

Grand Rapids Police are looking into 3 shootings that took place over this past weekend.   At least two lives were lost. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grand Rapids Police Department or through silent Observer.                                                                                                  Police say they were called to:  Kalamazoo Avenue near 44th Street, Eastown at the intersection of Wealthy and Ethel, and then early Sunday morning on the city's SE side in the parking lot of a restaurant near Martin Luther King Jr. Street SE and Geneva Avenue area.

Also over the weekend an 18-year-old was taken into custody following a shooting at a supermarket in Buffalo, New York.  Ten people lost their lives in what was considered to be a racial motivated hate crime. The suspect, Payton Gendron, opened fire in the parking lot of Tops Friendly Market at around 2:30 p.m. and continued shooting inside the store while dressed in tactical gear, police said.  Gendon was ultimately arrested at the scene.

One person lost their life and others were injured at a church in Southern California.  Members were eating lunch following the morning service at the church in Laguna Woods, when the shooting began.  The shooter opened fire Sunday afternoon at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods, which was hosting a Taiwanese congregation. The shooter's identity has not been released, but sheriff's officials described him as an Asian man in his 60s.     A group of congregants inside the church pinned the gunman to the ground, hogtied his legs with an extension cord and took his weapons, Orange County's undersheriff Jeff Hallock said.
