The parents of two students who were among those wounded at the Oxford High School shooting, introduce the lawsuit against the district.
A 100-million dollar lawsuit has been filed by victims families of the Oxford School shooting last week.
The family of two of the victims alleges the district, leaders, and employees “willfully misrepresented the dangers” of the situation and acted recklessly. Jeffrey Franz and Brandi Franz filed the suit this week alleging the district should have known the alleged shooter was a danger after being confronted with evidence of drawings and an attempt to buy ammunition while in class.
15-year old Ethan Crumbly faces four counts of homicide and terrorism charges. Crumbly has been charged as an adult.
His parents, Jim and Jennifer Crumbly are also being held on involuntary manslaughter charges. The Oakland County Prosecutor alleges the couple purchased the handgun used in the shooting. The couple is also accused of not taking action despite being confronted with what the district had said was "disturbing behavior."
District leaders say, at the time, as a result of their meeting with Crumbly and his parents, there was no need for further disciplinary action.
