After months of renovations, the B.O.B is set to reopen in downtown Grand Rapids today.
The B.O.B. (Big Old Building) at 20 Monroe Ave NW, Grand Rapids , closed towards the end of last year and experiences an ownership change and a few upgrades and renovations.
A grand reopening takes place today, at 4 p.m. They will then open to the public for Thursdays - Saturdays, from 4pm to 1am, but could eventually expand those hours.
The owners say the timing was perfect because ArtPrize will be back in a couple weeks bringing more crowds downtown.
The B.O.B. (an acronym for Big Old Building) is located in downtown Grand Rapids. The 70,000-square-foot, four-story, red brick building was constructed in 1903 as Judson's grocery warehouse. It stood vacant for decades before The Gilmore Collection began its transformation, saving it from demolition. Its casual appeal, large size and historic charm have given The B.O.B. destination status in downtown Grand Rapids. The B.O.B. is a big old building offering a multitude of choices for guests who walk through the door.
