A Court of Claims Judge, strikes down Michigan's 1931 abortion ban. We are still waiting for a ruling from the State Supreme Court

-On Wednesday, Court of Claims Judge, Elizabeth Gleicher, struck down the abortion ban, saying the law violates the Michigan Constitution.

The 1931 law makes it a crime to perform abortions unless the life of the mother is in danger.  Judge Gleicher had suspended the law in May with an injunction.

The Michigan Supreme Court has yet to rule on the constitutionality of the ban.

The state Supreme Court also still is considering whether to place a proposed amendment on the Nov. 8 ballot and let the people decide.  That ruling needs to be made by Friday.  That is the date when ballots are to be finalized.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
