Ransomware attack impacts Kellogg Community College.

(Battle Creek Enquirer) -  Kellogg Community College has canceled classes indefinitely following a ransomware attack discovered over the weekend.

In a statement issued Sunday evening, school officials said recent technology issues experienced by the college have been caused by a ransomware attack "that continues to affect our systems."

School officials did not specify what kinds of technology issues the college has been experiencing.

All five of KCC's campuses will remain closed and classes will be canceled until further notice. School officials said they hope to welcome back students and faculty later this week.

"We want to reassure our faculty and students that we will take any actions necessary for students to complete course work in a timely manner and appreciate your patience and support in the meantime," school officials said. An investigation into the ransomware attack is ongoing.

The college is requiring all students, faculty and staff to reset their passwords to help further secure the network.
