3/14/24 - Police Look For Pickup That Hit Amish Buggy

Three Amish girls are recovering after their buggy was hit by a pickup truck near Carson City.

MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — Michigan State Police are looking for the driver of a pickup truck that struck an Amish buggy Wednesday afternoon.

There were three girls, ages 13, 10, & 8, that were riding in the buggy at the time, when it was struck.  The truck then left the scene.  The three girls were then treated for minor injuries at the hospital and are now recovering. 

The incident took place just after 3:30 Wednesday afternoon along Senator Road, which is south of Carson City in Montcalm County.  

The suspect was left the scene and was headed south on Senator Road.   

Police says the driver of the older model white pickup truck, was a man around 60 years-old, with reddish-blond hair.  The truck also would have damage done to the front, passenger side.
