8/9/21 - New Covid Numbers Indicate New Trend

Kent and Ottawa County issue new recommendations.

Two major counties in West Michigan are seeing Covid-19 cases rise significantly.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has now raised the risk level of Covid-19 infection from ‘moderate’ to ‘substantial’ for Kent County.
The Kent County Health Department reports the seven day positivity rate has risen to 6.68 percent.  This represents the start of another upward trend. The state’s goal has been to see those levels below 3%
New numbers from Ottawa County have also elevated Covid-19 cases into the 'substantial' risk level as defined by the CDC. The CDC recommends that everyone in communities where the risk level is 'substantial' or 'high' wear a face mask in indoor public places, regardless of vaccination status.

Among other recommendations:

Get vaccinated

Wear a mask or face covering in all indoor public settings, regardless of vaccination status.

Practice good handwashing hygiene

Avoid large crowds and maintain social distance from people outside your household

Get tested if you have symptoms or think you may have been exposed to someone with Covid-19.
