Storms brought high winds and downed trees and power lines. Some may not get their power restored til late Monday afternoon.

A couple storm systems made their way across Lake Michigan and into West Michigan Saturday night. Advisories and Warnings were issued.

There were strong winds and many downed trees and branches which then resulted in power outages.

At one point close to 80,000 were without service and as of Monday morning a few thousand in scattered areas were still without.  Most should have it restored by Monday early evening.

The Ottawa County Fair starts today and over the weekend they believe it could have been a lightning strike that started a fire at the Park Township Community Building.

Six people were rescued from the Pere Marquette River during that thunderstorm Saturday night.  They were stuck at a log jam in canoes and kayaks and were in waste deep mud.  One of the victims was under medical distress and two of the victims started developing hypothermia and were treated by Life EMS.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.
