The governor signs a bi-partisan bill that adds a record amount to per-pupil funding.

Around 20 billion dollars will be headed to schools this upcoming year after Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed the school aid budget at Mott Community College.
"And in simple terms, this budget makes historic investments in students, in schools, and in our teachers and education workforce."
The bi-partisan plan increases per-pupil funding to its highest level in Michigan history.  It also supplies money for mental health care, as well as additional support for economically disadvantaged students, and special education.

Breakdown of Spending
Per-pupil funding - $9150 ($450 over 2021)
Mental Health support - $214 per student
Economically disadvantaged students – Additional $213 million
Special Education students – Additional $246 million
Higher Education - $2 billion
