A record number of us are headed out this weekend.

More of us are headed out today to enjoy the Memorial Day holiday.  AAA reports more than a million of us are headed to a destination that’s 50 miles or more away.  That’s an eight percent increase over last year and compares to numbers we haven’t seen since 2015.  Obviously, with the pandemic, travel was curbed dramatically but it appears more of us can’t wait to get out and hit the road.

A couple of safety tips for you as you head out.  Buckle up.  Make sure the kids are too.  Make sure your tires are properly inflated to help with the fuel economy.  That’s even more important now as prices have hit record numbers.  Use gas apps to help find lower prices, and make sure you keep some space between you and the other drivers.

Triple-A is also offering their Tow to Go program to help keep impaired drivers off the roadways.  The service is free and available to take a car within a 10 mile radius.  AAA only asks that it be used as a backup plan.

Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
