A large storm system resulted in over 50 tornados and some of the harder hit areas included communities in Arkansas, Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana and out East in Delaware.

The National Weather Service reported a number of tornados impacted eight states over the weekend.

The storm system that tore through the Midwest, South and Mid-Atlantic on Friday and Saturday carved a path of destruction that encompassed an area from Wisconsin to Delaware, and in the south to Mississippi. Not only did people lose their lives but many more were injured, and communities were left reeling on Sunday, as they assessed the damage and continued cleanup efforts.

Around 30 people lost their lives.

Airline flights were cancelled or delayed.

There have been widespread power outages and crews from other states are coming to help. The Red Cross and other relief agencies are providing help where they can.

On Sunday, nearly 13 million people in North Texas faced an enhanced risk for severe weather from another system.

The severe weather system not only spawned numerous tornados but it also created heavy snow in the North and fueled wildfires in Oklahoma.

Looking ahead to Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, West Michigan will be under a "slight risk" for severe weather.

Encouraging Words From Your Bible

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.
