At least two people lost their lives and several others were injured after several tornadoes moved across part of the Midwest Wednesday.
-At least nine tornadoes touched down Wednesday in Oklahoma, leaving two dead and causing widespread damage across parts of the state.
It was just after the sun set that a tornado touched down in the community of Cole, Oklahoma, about 25 miles south of Oklahoma City. Residents were told to take shelter immediately.
McClain County Sherriff's Deputy Scott Gibbons search and rescue efforts continued throughout the night. Power was out and a shelter was set up.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol said there was significant damage to structures in the town of Cole.
The National Weather Service said a tornado watch had been issued for portions of six states -- Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Later today, more storms are expected to fire up and areas from St. Louis down into Texas are at risk of large and damaging hail.
