The National Weather Service will survey damage from high winds across parts of Southern Michigan, specifically in the Grand Blanc area and near Marshall.
-Wild weather across the Mid-West brought with it reported tornadoes in Illinois and Michigan.
Rare violent storms made their way across parts of Souther Michigan overnight and into Wednesday.
Many areas saw high temperatures on Tuesday in the low 70's. The average highs are typically in the upper 30's. Severe storms resulted in weather systems collided. The storms brought high winds, hail and some power outages. Temperatures continue to drop and that means rain turning to snow. Many areas across the state are seeing a 50-degree temperature plunge.
A team from the National Weather Service is expected to look at damage on the ground in areas of Grand Blanc as the storm moved through Genesee County. Homes were damaged, some of the GM facility sustained damage, and some people were forced to evacuate.
Around 12:30 Wednesday morning, there was a report of a tornado on the ground near Marshall in Calhoun County. Many roads were blocked due to downed trees and power lines.
Another area that sustained damage from high winds, was an area SW of Lawton in Van Buren County.
High winds will continue throughout the day and scattered power outages are possible.
