10/27/22 - State Asks For Parent Feedback On Education Policies

Wednesday, the state announced a Michigan Parent Survey on education, but parents only have until Monday to respond.

LANSING, Mich. —The state of Michigan announced on Wednesday that they plan to gather parental input on their child's education through a  Michigan Parent Survey.  However they are only taking comments until Monday, October 31.

The state says the survey is meant to bring in a parental perspective on education policy decisions and help students get extra help as they get back on track after the COVID pandemic.

Parents of preschool through 12th grade students are invited to share their thoughts on what is working well, and what future investments may be needed in their schools, officials said.

The survey is part of efforts from the Michigan Parents' Council, which was created to represent parents' perspectives and "ensure that parents have an empowered seat at the table in state budget and policymaking decisions," according to officials.

The survey takes about 6 minutes to complete and can be taken online, through Monday.
