July 4th celebrations around West Michigan are starting earlier this year. Here are some of the events taking place starting this week.

Allegan County

Allegan - July 3rd, 5:30 - 10:30pm

Downtown parade with set-up beginning at 5pm

Stay for food, parade, and live music

 

Dorr - July 4th 10am

Parade - participants must register with Dorr Recreation with any and all questions referred to Dorr Recreation

 

Hopkins - July 4th 

7am - Pancake breakfast

8am - Kids parade

4pm - Community parade

Activities to follow including car show, pie eating contest, and fireworks at dusk

 

Saugatuck - July 4th 11am

Parade begins on Butler Street

Fireworks at 9pm

 

Calhoun County

Battle Creek - July 2nd 10:30pm

Fireworks Galore at Battle Creek Field of Flight

 

Kalamazoo County

Kalamazoo Speedway

Festivities start and include racing

Richland - July 4th 11am

Parade begins at Gull Lake High School

Kent County

Ada Township - July 4th 9:45am

9am - Bicycle parade followed by full parade

Followed by food trucks, games, rides, and live music

 

East Grand Rapids - July 4th, Noon

Parade followed by kids activities, food, and a water ski show

Fireworks over Reeds Lake at dusk

 

Grand Rapids - July 5rth 5pm

Ah-nab-awen Park will host festivities for the family beginning at 5pm

7:30am - Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station 1

8am - 5k Run 

9:30am - Parade starting at Crestwood Middle School

10:30 - 12:30 - Carnival at Kentwood City Hall

Dusk - Fireworks 

 

Ottawa Hills - July 4th 8:30am

Hollyhock Lane Parade 

Includes food, fun, prizes and short speeches on Independence Day

 

Ionia County

Portland - July 4th, 10am

Parade begins on Water Street and ends at High School

 

Ottawa County

Allendale - July 4th, 10am

Parade

Car show, Food trucks, games and kids activities, live music

Fireworks 10:15pm Allendale K-8 campus

 

Coopersville - July 1 6-8:30pm

Coopersville Farm Museum hosting the Red, White, and Blues jam

Admission is FREE - Wear Red, White, and Blue clothing

 

Ferrysburg - July 4th

8am - Pancake breakfast at City Hall gym

10:30am - Parade begins at City Hall

Festivities continue following parade at Williams Ferry Park - games, food, and lots of fun

 

Grand Haven - July 4th 10pm

Musical Fountain show starting around 10:10pm

 

Holland - July 4th Noon to 10pm

Street Fair

Fireworks over Lake Macatowa beginning at dusk

 

Muskegon County

Muskegon - July 4th 8 - Midnight

Festivities at Heritage Landing starting at 8pm with DJ hosted music

Fireworks beginning around 10pm

Bring blankets or chairs

 

Whitehall -  July 4th 10 am

Parade begins at City Hall

Downtown will be open for shopping, dining, and outdoor fun
