A day to recognize those educators who have impacted our lives, or the lives of our children, in so many ways!
By Joel Hill
Tuesday is National Teacher Appreciation day. It’s described as “a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives."
This began In 1953, when Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded the 81st Congress to proclaim National Teachers' Day. Since then, teachers have been recognized for the influence and impact they can have on students in both their education and life skills. Teachers continue to receive high marks of satisfaction from parents and students, despite the number of teachers who report the job as "stressful" and many who over the last few years, have left the profession entirely.
