Health officials say someone gained access through a 'third-party' breach.

An unfortunate series of events may have exposed patient data of Ascension Care. The company says they discovered some patient information may have been “inadvertently disclosed” to a former business partner and then stolen from there. The company itself did not suffer a direct data breach as a result.

Company spokespersons say they “have since reviewed our processes and are working to implement enhanced measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future,"

"We encourage impacted individuals to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud, review their account statements, and monitor their credit reports for suspicious activity." The company is offering credit monitoring services and identity theft protection for those affected.

Patients with concerns can call Ascension directly.

Ascension - 866-408-3556 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Central Time.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.
