Over its' history, the Holland Tulip Time Festival has been nominated for several awards. This year, another nomination is waiting.
A local festival is up for another award.
The Holland Tulip Time Festival is being nominated for USA Today's Top 10 Best Floral Festivals in the Country. Since the festival began in 1929, the festival has been nominated and won multiple awards.
Last year, the World Tulip Summit awarded the festival with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
In 2023 it was nominated and won the Flower Festival of the Year by the International Garden Tourism Network. The festival attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors each year to view an estimated six million tulips planted around the city.
Festival General Manager Gwen Auwerda says Tulip Time has been a success because of a lot of hard work and dedication from volunteers and supporters. You can have a vote in the process by Googling "USA Today 10Best Flower Festivals" and submitting your vote once daily. Winners will be announced March 12.
