Guided Shrin-Yoku: Winter After Dark

Join us as we breathe deep, relax, and explore the beauty of deep winter during the return of this popular guided forest bathing program, led by Certified Forest Therapy Guide Katie Venechuk from In Your Element Wellness. Our evening will start indoors with a brief introduction to the background and research of Shinrin-yoku (forest bathing), how it differs from a hike in the forest, and how it can help enhance your well-being in the darkest months of winter. From there, you’ll be guided out into the beautiful moonlit forests of Blandford Nature Center for a unique winter experience, helping you slow down, notice new details in the cold weather world, and tend to your relationship with the season. At the close of our program, we’ll head back inside for a complimentary wild foraged tea and cookies, along with time for community connection. Our total time outdoors will be a little over 1 hour. Blankets, insulated sit pads, hot stone hand warmers, and flashlights are all provided for your use, along with essential oils for relaxation. Note: This program is intended for adults ages 18 and up. Pre-registration is required to attend. Online registration closes at 5 pm the day before the program or when the program sells out. If the program is sold out, please complete your registration to be added to the waitlist (you will not be charged) and you will be notified if spots open up. This program will take place outdoors. In the event of severe weather, this program will be cancelled, and participants will be notified of their refund options and/or a possible makeup date.

Cancellation Policy: Notice must be received at least 7 days before the scheduled program to receive a 50% refund. Due to processing fees, full refunds are not available. There will be no refunds issued within 7 days of the program. All Community Programs will be held unless there is severe weather, as determined by Blandford and the program guide. If a program is cancelled due to severe weather you will receive a full registration refund or the option to transfer your registration to a future program. Please come prepared for the elements as refunds are not available for weather-related conditions except in the case of severe weather, when you have been contacted that the program has been cancelled.
